| That strange fellow who all of the sudden became a Facebook junkie. I like it better for keeping up with people but I miss the old xanga blogging bit. I'm finding it harder and harder to update multiple sites, maybe it's just lack of motivation. Boy, that's something I'd like to get better at this year. Motivation. There are so many things I need to motivate myself to work towards: finishing my education, fixing my physical condition, projects at the house, projects at church, work on my guitar skills, develop some piano skills, be a good daddy, be a great husband, cook more/eat out less, read more/watch tv less... Experts say you need to write your goals down and put timeframes on them or you'll never achieve your altitude. Having not tested this theory, I can say that the inverse has been mostly true for me. Just hoping that I do these things one day hasn't gotten me very far. Well we'll see what comes of it. In other news, the dTV baby will be here soon (that's her scheduled due date, the same as the digital TV transition, Feb 17th) I must say I'm pretty excited to see Lyla. I love all my girls and they pretty much take up my life right now. I'm totally enamored. Gotta get back to work. Bye. | | |
| I haven't updated here in a long time so I thought I'd stop in and say hi. Life's busy...2nd kid on the way, work's really busy, I'm brushing up on my music theory skills and incorporating some re-arranged hymns into the mix at church, and on top of it all, Addie is crawling all over the place now...you all know how it goes. So I am up early trying to book cheap flights to Kansas for a much needed break. I also haven't seen my family there in four years. Cathy and I are really looking forward to a whole week and a half off of work....woot! So there's my update. I'll see you again, sometime. Also, I have a face book page now. | Cathy and I are often thankful for the baby's wonderful disposition. This weekend was one of those times. We took Cathy to the urgent care on Saturday for some leg pain she's been having lately (lack of calcium, you women should take note) as soon as we left, Addie's temperature jumped to 104. So, we went back to urgent care and she's got some virus; probably from one of the babysitting kids. All that said, she was in such a good mood this weekend despite her high temp lack of appetite, etc. Here's proof:

| Random thoughts today...things are moving along at the house, unpacking still and situating things to our liking. I need to choose some colors for the living area and kitchen/dining room. We had a nest of bees take up residence in the front yard on Saturday. We presume the Queen was house hunting and graced our sapling with her presence en-route to the open desert where all the bushes are in bloom. Addie is growing too fast. I feel like I've missed something somewhere and can't pin it down until I see some smaller child and quickly remember, oh yeah, she used to weeble and wobble like that. She's started on rice cereal which she has to remember how to eat every night. It starts with a couple of uncertain looks before she moves into her dinner conversation. She loves to talk.
Also, Cathy quit her job to stay home with the baby. Her last day is the 19th and then we're off to NC for the remainder of the month. She's going to try her hand at keeping other kids at the house to supplement the loss of a paycheck. I hope it works out. If you see me begging on a corner somewhere you'll know it didn't. -End Rambling | | |
| I recently went into Blockbuster and spent some time reading the backs of the DVD boxes and noticed a trend. Provocative Exciting Intense drama that pushes the envelope The new standard for action movies A comedy that will leave you rolling Then I looked at the ratings: YRV (Youth Restricted Viewing) or R for Graphic Sexuality and Language and Gory Violence Throughout. I would ask you a favor. Can you start pushing the envelope in the areas of good script writing, irony, wit and dialogue? I think I would be inclined to rent more of your movies that way.
